What this page is
This page quotes r/freelanceWriters's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-09-26. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/freelanceWriters's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
R1: No Spam or Self-Promotion
Self-promotion and marketing content is forbidden. Promoting any goods, services, content mills, courses, studies, surveys, market research, ebooks, etc. is not allowed. Moderators may remove any post or comment at their discretion.
R2: No Links in Posts
Posts are not permitted to contain any links, without exception (whether self-promotional or not).
R3: Links in Comments
Comments may include links to freely-available content only, so long as (1) the link is relevant to the topic, (2) the user provides brief context about the link (min. 1-2 sentences), and (3) the user is a consistent contributor to the subreddit. Links may not be self-promotional.
R5: No Looking for Work
This is not the place to look for clients, work, gigs, referrals, or freelance websites. Please refer to the [Wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/freelanceWriters/wiki/finding_work) for a [comprehensive list of hiring subreddits](https://www.reddit.com/r/freelanceWriters/wiki/finding_work/subreddits) and [recommended freelancing platforms](https://www.reddit.com/r/freelanceWriters/wiki/finding_work/websites), or general advice on how to find clients, pitch, and market yourself.
R11: No AMAs Without Approval
AMA (Ask Me Anything)-style posts require prior permission and approval from the Mod Team. AMAs may not be self-promotional and cannot be used to advertise your products or services. By requesting to host an AMA, you agree that it may be archived and included in the subreddit Wiki.

AMA (Ask Me Anything)-style posts require prior permission and approval from the Mod Team. AMAs may not be self-promotional and cannot be used to advertise your products or services. We welcome stories of your personal experiences with various platforms and publications, but just the facts, please! Posts declaring a company "a total scam" or "thieves" or talking about their CEO cheating on his wife will be deleted. Refrain from including personally identifiable or proprietary information and avoid making unsupported allegations.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
