What this page is

This page quotes r/roastmystartup's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/roastmystartup's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? Post your start-up (or start-up idea) for other entrepreneurs to roast it. We won't hold back punches.

Where to post: Text post presenting your own startup (or idea) for a roast, with a clickable link if it is live

What it requires: Only your own startup (mods check post history for affiliation); include a clickable link if the business is live; no ProductHunt or Vercel links or free subdomains; more than a two-sentence post; no reposts from other subs; expect harsh feedback

What its rules say about promotion

No ProductHunt Links, Vercel Links, just a Link or free subdomains
Unfortunately we experience a ridiculous amount of spam that all have one thing in common - ProductHunt links and.......now Vercel links. Any post with a producthunt or vercel link will be removed. If you don't believe in your startup enough to buy a domain its not worth our time to roast.

  2. No Reporting People for BS
Don't like a roast? That doesnt mean you get to report it. Also if you report somebody and claim they did something to you in another subreddit - we don't care. We will not ban people for things done in other subreddits. Period.
  3. Lack Of Effort or not Roast
If you simply repost from another subreddit the post will removed, if you just post a two sentence post it will be removed, if you post something asking a question it will be removed. This is to prevent spamming if the sub and low quality nonsense.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
