What its rules say about promotion

Rule 1 - No selling
The sub is meant as a place for people to share their personal creations and personal experiences, not to sell machines, materials or files. Any post/comment that mentions selling of lasers, materials, or files will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.
Rule 2 - No advertising
The subreddit r/lasercutting is FIRSTLY AND ONLY for LASER USERS, not the COMPANIES that sell them. Any accounts that are directly used for the promotion of a brand will be banned. Being paid to promote a product and not disclose it is not only against Reddit's TOS but FTC Guidelines as well. Any user that posted to the subreddit in an attempt to advertise for a laser manufacturer without disclosing it will be reported and banned.

Everyone here enjoys lasers in some way so we all have something in common. Do the right thing and keep it friendly with the other users of the sub. Criticism is part of the creative process but try and keep it positive when discussing everything.
  4. Asking, sharing, or discussion of pirated software.
Any instance of asking for, offering or discussion of aquiring pirated copies of software and/or laser cutting files is not allowed. This is against Reddits TOS and will not be tolerated on the subreddit. This is grounds for immediate banning.
  5. No links
Except for YouTube videos, To keep the spam and sales down, we don’t allow any types of links. Weather it be to Amazon or a machine you’re interested in buying and need recommendations for. Unless pre-approved by mods.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
