What this page is

This page quotes r/Hair's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-09-26. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Hair's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No Spam, Self-Promotion, or Ads
Spam and advertisements will be removed. Self-promotion of any kind is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to MLMs, OnlyFans, YouTube videos, articles, blogs, surveys, salon or clinic advertisements, and product promotions.
All 6 rules of r/Hair
  1. Be kind and supportive, including to yourself.
Treat all users with kindness and respect. Bullying, harassment, trolling, name-calling, or bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in a ban. Unsolicited flirting, sexual comments, and objectifying language will also be removed. Fetishism is not allowed.
  2. Advice must be requested and constructive.
**When Requesting Advice:** Please include photos or a detailed description of your hair and hair history when seeking advice. **When Giving Advice:** Advice must be constructive, polite, and requested. Unsolicited advice or joke/trolling comments will be removed.
  3. No NSFW
NSFW content, including gore, sexual content, or overly graphic descriptions, is not allowed.
  4. No Low-Effort Content
Low-effort posts and vague content that lack purpose are not allowed. This includes questions asking for the name of a haircut, names of hair colors/hair levels, how to describe it to a stylist, or basic information about hair colors and styles. Use search engines, reference images, or consult a stylist for these inquiries. Posts without clear context, effort, or intent, such as "What do you think?" or other vague titles or captions, will also be removed.
  6. No Doxxing or Personal Information
Sharing private or identifying information about individuals or businesses (e.g., names, locations, or contact details), encouraging witch hunts, targeting individuals for harassment, or coordinating review bombing will result in a permanent ban. This behavior is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
