Real ecommerce marketing tactics from people who run stores. No courses, no agency pitches, no "5 tips" posts. Share what you did, what happened, and what the numbers looked like. Store owners, in-house marketers, and practitioners sharing strategies that actually work. Set your user flair to show your status and revenue band.
What its rules say about promotion
No self-promotion, courses, or service pitches
Do not promote your course, agency, coaching program, SaaS tool, newsletter, or freelance services. This includes linking to course platforms, booking pages, or your own website. If your post ends with "DM me" or a link to your business, it will be removed. Share your knowledge directly as text or don't post it.
No affiliate or referral links
Posts and comments containing affiliate links, referral codes, or links to affiliate networks will be removed. If you recommend a tool, link to it directly without a tracking parameter. Affiliate marketing of any kind is not permitted.
Tactical posts must include context and results
If you are sharing a strategy, tactic, or case study, your post must include three things: (1) what you did, (2) the result with numbers, and (3) what you would do differently. Posts like "5 tips for email marketing" without specific data or personal experience will be removed. We want real tactics from real operators, not repurposed blog content.
No unethical or black-hat tactics
Do not encourage or share unethical, illegal, or black-hat marketing techniques. This includes fake reviews, misleading advertising, unauthorized data collection, or any tactic that violates platform terms of service. Discussions should focus on legitimate and sustainable strategies.

If you are sharing a strategy, tactic, or case study, your post must include three things: (1) what you did, (2) the result with numbers, and (3) what you would do differently. Posts like "5 tips for email marketing" without specific data or personal experience will be removed. Do not submit a YouTube video, TikTok, Instagram post, or podcast episode as a link post. If you want to share insights from your content, write a text post with the key takeaways. Low-effort questions like "how do I get more sales" with no context will be removed. The more specific you are, the better answers you will get. - No unethical or black-hat tactics
Do not encourage or share unethical, illegal, or black-hat marketing techniques. This includes fake reviews, misleading advertising, unauthorized data collection, or any tactic that violates platform terms of service. Discussions should focus on legitimate and sustainable strategies. - No personal attacks or harassment
Disagree with ideas, not people. Do not engage in personal attacks, harassment, or discriminatory language. Constructive criticism of strategies and tactics is encouraged. Attacking the person sharing them is not.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
