Eating healthy on a cheap budget

What its rules say about promotion

Reddiquette 2.0
No polls, surveys, research for school, no ads, limited self promotion, etc. Please be positive, constructive criticism is welcome but being mean is not. See our rules of engagement mantra for clarification. This also means that any arguments of dietary restrictions are not allowed, no matter which side you argue for. Nobody has time for that drama.
health / prices / politics
No POLITICS, polls, surveys, research for school, no ads, if your account posts NSFW content you cannot post here, no app surveys, app testers, anything app related that is self promotion, DO NOT LIST PRICES, as they are not relevant to the rest of the world, limited self promotion, **do not ask for dietary advice or medical advice, etc.
All 7 rules of r/EatCheapAndHealthy
  1. All link or image posts must include a formatted text recipe.
**Here is how it works:** 1. You submit an image link. It will be filtered. You will be sent an automated message, telling you all of this. 2. You comment with a formatted text recipe. 3. Once you complete steps 1 and 2, you will send the mods a modmail. 4. We manually review your post and either approve it or coach you on what to do differently.
  2. Reddiquette is enforced
Please be constructive with your comments! If you have a healthier option, please post that instead of discourse. moderators will remove comments or users who just sow discourse and do not add to the healthy discussions. It's just food but to some people, the recipes, images, discussions and interactions here can help them to get to a better place in their personal lives. We use reddiquete as a rule here and not just a good idea. Please help us grow the community.
  3. ECAH mantra
Remember, we come from a varied and diverse background, and all of us have different perceptions of what cheap and healthy means. There is no one right way to eat for all people and all budgets, and there is always room for improvement. Please keep things cordial and respectful, and if you think you have a better set of recipes, lead by example and post them! This means you cannot tell people that their content is not healthy, or you could be banned.
  4. WIKI index

  5. Read the Mantra, and know what it means. We will ban users who do not comply.
  6. Reddiquette 2.0

See our rules of engagement mantra for clarification. This also means that any arguments of dietary restrictions are not allowed, no matter which side you argue for. Nobody has time for that drama.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
