What this page is

This page quotes r/DomainZone's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/DomainZone's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

At r/DomainZone, we talk about domain names and all domain-related issues, including email, websites, hosting, and whatnot. This sub is beginner-friendly, so don't hesitate to ask noobish questions. We'll also regularly publish beginner Q&A posts.

What its rules say about promotion

Self-promotion rules
Reasonable self-promotion is allowed as long as it's on-topic and of value. Before you start posting links, stick around for a while and join the discussions in this sub. If you come off as a spammer, you'll be shown the door.
All 6 rules of r/DomainZone
  1. Keep it on topic
Discussions should be focused on domain names, domain registrars, and associated issues like DNS, email, website development, hosting, monetization, etc. Posts that have nothing to do with domains or their uses don't belong in this sub.
  2. Keep it polite
Don't use curse words and don't offend other redditors.
  3. No "for sale" posts
Domain "for sale" posts are no longer allowed in this sub. They just create a lot of noise and clutter while most users have little/no interest in buying domains here, especially the type of domains that's usually offered on Reddit. You may have better luck elsewhere. Note: Discussion of third-party domain auctions and sales is allowed. Listing your own domains for sale is not.
  4. No adult or inappropriate domains
Discussion of adult-related or otherwise inappropriate domain names is not allowed. Violating posts/comments may be removed at the moderator's discretion.
  5. No comment spam
Comments should be constructive and relevant to the discussion. Spammy and vain comments will be removed if deemed inappropriate by the mod team.
  6. Self-promotion rules
Reasonable self-promotion is allowed as long as it's on-topic and of value. Before you start posting links, stick around for a while and join the discussions in this sub. If you come off as a spammer, you'll be shown the door.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
