- Be kind
We want to create an inclusive and supportive environment for digital nomads. Please don't be snarky or a gatekeeper. - No self-promotion or blog spam
Links to blogs, product launches, YouTube, fundraising campaigns, or other self-promotional material will be removed. No exceptions - many posts are removed daily. - No surveys, interview requests, market research
Surveys will be removed without mercy. Reddit polls are allowed if the question is original (no "what work do you do?") - Job postings should be shared in the weekly discussion thread
[Weekly Discussions](https://www.reddit.com/r/digitalnomad/collection/d43b56fb-85ef-4c78-aa53-c6d84de0aee3) This helps members find recent posts quickly. Identifying the company is strongly encouraged. - Avoid repetitive job advice questions
Asking for career/job advice? Try the wiki/sidebar or searching before posting. Frequently asked questions will be removed. Posts like these are better asked in [/r/careerguidance/](https://www.reddit.com/r/careerguidance/) (general), or [/r/cscareerquestions/](https://www.reddit.com/r/cscareerquestions/) (IT / programming) - Laptop pics should drive discussion
Please provide details about where you are traveling when sharing a laptop or beach pic etc. Posts that don't answer the stickied AutoModerator questions in a timely manner will be removed. - DN trip reports are encouraged
You can use [this starter template](https://www.reddit.com/r/digitalnomad/wiki/trip-report-template) - No "anti-gentrification" or similar rhetoric
This is a digital nomad subreddit, it makes no sense to whine about this here.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
