What this page is
This page quotes r/CNC's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-09-26. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/CNC's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

What its rules say about promotion
Self Promotion
Posts of self promotion MUST include original content directly from the post author and have been created with reasonable effort. Posts that do not meet this criteria will be removed without question. Other considerations that may cause the removal of the post include lack of engagement with the community or the author has a history of self promotion. Final decision is made by the community by way of reporting.
All 10 rules of r/CNC
- Safety
No posts or comments that encourages unsafe acts. Examples of this include unsafe instructions and unsafe modes of machine operation. - Asking For Help or Advice
You must include as much useful information as possible when asking for help or advice. This is now required. Any posts without this information may be removed and only restored when the information is supplemented. Post authors are required to stay engaged with the community. Posters are also expected to have done some basic research on their own. If it appears the author has done little or no research the post may be removed for low effort. - Be Respectful
Please be respectful of others when posting. Name calling or belittling will not be tolerated and may result in a permanent ban. - Off Topic
Off topic posts are not permitted. Posts must be directly related to CNC (computer numerical controls) - Self Promotion
- Sales or Services
Sales and or services posts are not permitted. This includes sales items and quoting. Please use the stickied sales and services megathread. - Low Effort Posts
Titles must be clear and descriptive. Posts that are too vague may be removed. Single word titles without descriptions or further details provided will be removed. Posts asking for help or advice without having done any research will be removed. - Piracy
Piracy of any kind is not permitted and may cause a permanent ban - Post Flair Required
In an effort to reduce lost Redditors post flair has been enabled. - 10. No Politics
There is no flair for politics because this sub is for CNC topics. Some political adjacent threads will be tolerated, but comments that are hostile on political grounds will result in removal. There are plenty of subs for discussing politics. Keep politics out of the discussion here.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
