What this page is

This page quotes r/archlinux's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-09-26. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/archlinux's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about AI and bots

AI Content and Sharing Personal Projects
AI generated content is not allowed. AI output may be referenced as a part, but must be made clear. Posts and projects that are mostly AI generated, or not transparent about the extent of AI use may be considered spam. Personal projects shared are expected to be of reasonable quality and are subject to a minimum of a "Human in the Loop" policy, and must be able to demonstrate 90 days of history and maintenance. Previous development history of the user may be taken into account for exemption.
All 6 rules of r/archlinux
  1. Only Arch Linux itself; no Arch-based distros. Posts about other software used on Arch are welcome.
Articles, support questions or posts not directly related to Arch Linux are not allowed. We only support Arch Linux X86_64 and ARM. We **cannot** support Distro's that might share the package manager or some of the Arch Linux base as they are custom built by the fork maintainers. We **cannot** support SteamOS. This uses its own package repos and a completely custom configuration. Please use /r/ManjaroLinux /r/EndeavourOS /r/Parabola /r/cachyos /r/linuxquestions or /r/linux4noobs instead.
  2. No image based Memes or Screenshots
Image based Meme posts are not allowed in r/archlinux. Feel free to post over at /r/linuxmemes instead. Some textual Memes **MIGHT** be allowed at the mods discretion. Likewise, Screenshots featuring customizations belong in /r/unixporn
  3. Follow the Arch Linux Code of Conduct
All posts should adhere to the Arch Linux code of conduct. The Arch Linux Code of Conduct covers topics such as: respecting others, trolling, vague posts, due diligence, alternate accounts, and more. Please see the full document for details: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Code_of_conduct
  4. No Trolling / Shit-posting / Spam
Low quality posts are subject to removal Trolling and Spam are not allowed, and will result in bans. Examples of low quality posts include, but are not limited to: "I use Arch BTW", overly vague posts, "RTFM" insofar as is dogmatic/rude/unhelpful, Political or Religious posts or comments, BST Posts, Low effort, NSFW content. While we strive to set transparent expectations, these removals are subject to moderator discretion.
  6. Chat Channel Rules
Keep conversations on topic. Don't spam the chat. Be respectful. Absolutely no NSFW content.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
