What this page is

This page quotes r/Aquariums's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-09-26. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Aquariums's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about AI and bots

Misinformation and non-human-created content is not allowed.
Information shared should be accurate, truthful, and supported by credible sources. Deliberately sharing false or misleading information will result in removal. Always check your facts before posting. Repeat offenders may be suspended or banned. All content must be created by humans and not by artificial intelligence, including text and images.
All 7 rules of r/Aquariums
  1. Personal attacks, derailing, and trolling are not tolerated.
It's ok to disagree, but choose your words wisely. We will remove any negative commentary or comment chain at our discretion that we deem is no longer adding constructive value to the post. We have a zero tolerance policy with trolling, which can lead to instant temporary or permanent bans.
  2. No advertising, self promotion, or spamming.
Direct advertisement is not allowed. If more than 10% of your submissions are a personal website, blog, YouTube video, or other personal creation such as 3D printing designs, it is considered advertising and will be removed. Posts asking for ideas, feedback, or promotion of your aquarium-related app, game, or other software is not allowed. Posting more than 2x in 24 hours is considered spamming. 3.
  4. No memes, shitposting, or low effort content.
Humor like image macros, comics, motivational posters, shitposts, or out-of-context images belong on r/AquariumMemes. Low effort posts include repetitive topics, reposts, and low quality submissions such as stock photos, social media posts, or search engine results. This is a subreddit for OC (original content) only. Non-original content, eg. articles, must include a properly cited source, including author name, publish date, title, and URL - unless you are asking for identification.
  5. Dead and dying animals must have a Spoiler Tag.
This includes severe wounds and live feeding. How to apply a Spoiler Tag to your posts: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043035132-What-are-spoiler-tags
  6. Do not post shitty tanks to antagonize, ridicule, or debate.
These belong on r/shittyaquariums. Note that this rule does NOT apply to tanks where the intent is not to shame (i.e. a user looking for help or is unaware that their system is bad).
  7. No buy, sell, or giveaway posts.
    These posts belong on r/AquaSwap.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
