What this page is

This page quotes r/Anki's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Anki's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

Do not spam
Creators are essential to Anki's ecosystem. We allow responsible self-promotion, but ask you to contribute organically and avoid spam. Posts that largely promote without meaningful participation may be removed; repeat offenses lead to suspensions. More commercial or less Anki-related projects are likelier to be removed. When sharing projects, state pricing and license and post it directly – no "DM me for a link." Genuine ecosystem activity is required, not just engagement for promotion.
No research for other products/services
r/Anki is not a platform for market research or surveys unrelated to Anki. Posts soliciting feedback or gathering data for products/services outside the Anki ecosystem will be removed (e.g. research for decks/add-ons is OK, research for an Anki competitor is not OK). For Anki-adjacent projects that might fall under this rule, contact mods for approval before posting. Our self-promotion guidelines as per rule 3 apply here as well. Repeated violations may result in bans.
No low-effort AI content
AI-assisted posts and projects are fine, as are tools bringing AI features to Anki, but the bar for quality, effort, novelty, and utility is high. Non-native speakers using AI to communicate is also ok. If your project was largely AI-built, disclose it. Posts that read like unedited AI output, or projects that lack substance or polish, may be removed. Self-promotion (Rule 3) and market research (Rule 5) rules apply with extra scrutiny. When in doubt, post to r/AnkiAI instead.

All 6 rules of r/Anki
  1. Keep your posts on-topic
Posts that are off-topic will be removed.
  2. Be polite and kind
Rude or snarky comments will be removed.
  3. Do not spam

  4. Do not remove answered questions
Community support is one of /r/Anki's main focuses. Deleting your posts as soon as your question is solved is unfair both to users who provide that support in their free time, and to future users who might have the same question. If we find that you routinely delete answered posts with no apparent reason, we reserve the right to exclude you from participating on /r/Anki.
  5. No research for other products/services

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
